Review policy
Guidelines for useful, genuine reviews.
These rules protect open participation while keeping reviews relevant, specific, and safe. They apply to reviewers, invited contributors, and company representatives.
Write from genuine experience
- Describe a first-hand product, purchase, support, or service experience.
- Be specific about what occurred and when; separate facts from opinion.
- Do not coordinate reviews, accept compensation for sentiment, or impersonate another person.
- One experience may not be multiplied across accounts or companies to manipulate ratings.
Keep people safe
- Do not post passwords, payment credentials, private addresses, private messages, or unnecessary personal information.
- No threats, targeted harassment, hate, sexual exploitation, malware links, or instructions that facilitate harm.
- Do not use reviews to extort a company or condition removal on receiving money, products, or special treatment.
Source and verification labels
Organic
The reviewer found the platform independently. This label does not prove a purchase.
Invited
The review originated from a company invitation. Invitations must not select only satisfied customers or require a positive rating.
Purchase verified
This label is applied only after sufficient evidence is assessed. Uploading a file does not guarantee verification, and evidence is handled privately under the privacy policy.
Moderation and appeals
Reports trigger an independent policy review; they do not automatically remove content. Moderators may restrict, request edits, label, or remove content when policy requires it. Material decisions should preserve an audit record. Reviewers and affected companies may appeal using the case identifier.
Company participation
Verified representatives may update eligible profile information and post public replies. They cannot edit a reviewer’s words, assign verification to a review, view private evidence without an authorized process, or suppress legitimate criticism.
Ranking methodology
A company must be active and have at least three published reviews. We show the top 100 eligible companies overall or within the selected category. Pending, rejected, removed, under-review and withdrawn reviews do not contribute to ratings or rankings.
The displayed rating is the arithmetic average of published 1–5 star reviews. Ranking uses a Bayesian adjustment: (sum of published stars + 10 × comparison average) ÷ (published review count + 10). The comparison average is weighted by review count across all eligible companies in that category, including companies outside the displayed top 100. This reduces the influence of very small review samples.
Equal scores are ordered by published review count, then canonical domain. Organic, invited and purchase-verified reviews carry the same rating weight; verification is a label, not a purchased ranking advantage. The method version is bayesian-v1-m3-c10. Companies cannot buy a position. Updates propagate through the rating worker and are reconciled daily.
